Coin Harvey House
SAVE OUR PAST. ENRICH OUR FUTURE.
This outstanding residence at 1305 3rd Avenue in Huntington, WV was designed and constructed in 1874, by 23 year old William Hope "Coin" Harvey. The surrounding area was known as "Society Row" because of the beautiful
and gracious homes located in the area. This unique, stucco residence is the last remaining house of that period.
It is important to save and preserve this early Huntington home, built two years after
Huntington was established as a city, as it is valuable to our early history, architecture, and the contributions of Mr. Coin Harvey.
The exterior has been described as "architecturally perfect
symmetry", with unique classical design, consisting of a bonnet arched roofline, large doric columns and a double curved stairway. The interior is very special due to the Tiffany style stained glass arched windows
and the beautiful marbleized iron fireplaces.
